We accept people as they are. We provide a nighttime warm safe shelter for individuals or families who may have no other option.
The goal of the Safe Place Warming Houses is to save lives, link resources, and encourage dignity through low-barrier access to a warm safe place at night for those in need. We provide, low barrier access to night shelter services regardless of an individual or family’s personal barriers to housing security. We provide showers, laundry, light food, and onsite resources throughout the year. We engage those we shelter to build pathways to seek lasting solutions for their need.
The Safe Place Warming Houses is founded on Christian principles. “We love because He first loved us.” ~ 1 John 4:19. It really is that simple. We are called to love and care for those in need.
Everyone needs shelter and it is not our mission to judge who deserves shelter and who does not, because we understand that we do not get what we deserve either. It is because of our faith that we support the mission of the The Safe Place Warming Houses.
It is in faith that we take each next step, without knowing where the funding will come from. We believe the Safe Place Warming Houses is the right thing to do and we understand it will take many in our community to successfully make it happen!
Safe Place Warming Houses is a volunteer organization run by a volunteer board as a 501(c)(3).
Our Mission:
Safe Place Warming Houses exists to provide temporary overnight shelter and immediate needs for the homeless, while directing them to permanent solutions for their needs.
Our Vision:
We envision Safe Place Warming Houses as a place where everyone can sleep indoors, regroup, and redirect their lives toward long term solutions.
